High School Placement

As partners in education, the faculty and administration work with parents and students to guide them through both the catholic and public high schools process. As a result of this cooperation, an average 75% or better of our graduation classes are accepted into their first choice Catholic High School. More than half make all three choices, and 1/3 of our students are accepted into the various high school honors programs.

Students from Holy Family continue on their education in various catholic high schools such as Archbishop Molloy, The Mary Louis Academy, St. Francis Prep, Holy Cross, St. Mary’s, Monsignor McClancy, etc. On average, 10% of our students have also ended up attending specialized public high schools such as Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, Bard Early College, and Townsend Harris to name a few.

Back in November 2025, 20 of our eighth graders were interested in attending a Catholic high school for September 2026. They took the Test for Admissions into Catholic High Schools – also known as TACHS. The students and parents selected THREE schools in order of preference, the students then took the test, submitted 6th, 7th & 8th Grade marks and then all waited to see how they did.

In January 2026, those 20 eighth graders received notifications in the mail from the schools they chose. We, at Holy Family Catholic Academy, are delighted to say that most of our students and their parents were pleased with the news the mail brought them. Out of the 20 members from the Class of 2026, 100% of our students were accepted into their First Choice School and to all three of their choices.

Since 2003, Holy Family Students have won over 230 scholarships to Catholic High Schools. From the Class of 2026, 9 of them received various scholarships, grants, and awards:

  • Noah Adorno - $500 per year for Cathedral Preparatory
